Birmingham-Southern names new director of institutional research and effectiveness

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Deborah Dailey has been named the director of institutional research and effectiveness at Birmingham-Southern College.Deborah-Dailey.jpg

In addition to the institutional research function, Dailey will oversee accreditation initiatives and academic and administrative program assessment and will serve as 澳门新葡京官网’s liaison with its accrediting agency the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). She will also facilitate campus-wide strategic planning activities.

Dailey currently serves as associate vice president for research, planning, and accreditation at Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, Penn. Previously, she served as assistant provost for institutional effectiveness and director of institutional research at Washington and Lee University, associate director of planning and institutional research at Georgetown University, and assistant director for institutional research at UAB.

“We are excited to have someone with this level of expertise and background step into this important position,” said 澳门新葡京官网 President Linda Flaherty-Goldsmith. “In addition to her in-depth understanding of the role of someone leading these functions, she also brings creativity and insight. In addition, at Washington and Lee, she became acquainted with the accreditation process used by SACS.”

Dailey completed coursework for a doctorate at the University of Alabama, where she earned a bachelor’s in history. She also studied at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, where she received her M.S. Ed in educational administration with an emphasis in higher education. Dailey will join the 澳门新葡京官网 community Feb. 1.
